I feel your pain and I know the challenges. Even though I was already at home full time, with a toddler when I started my home business, I was also a single mom half of the week, as my husband is an airline pilot. I had no family locally to help out and so I had to get creative.
We all have those obstacles that can "lay themselves down" in our path if we allow them to, and ultimately, I had to make some decisions, and you are going to have to do the same to be successful.
I could either keep making excuses (because that IS what they are!) Or, I could come up with some solutions.
Well, I wallowed for a bit and finally began to come up with solutions.
Here are some that worked for me -
A babysitting coop with friends from my playgroup
A preteen to come in 2 days a week and just play with my kids while I made calls and did business stuff
Making calls from my car in the Starbucks parking lot (this works for working moms and dads!) Just take an extra 15-30 minutes twice a week and stop off BEFORE you get home and make some dals. You will see it pay off!
Work your business in small pockets of time at kid's practices and such.
Here is a 2 minute video on how I have done this -
I would love for you to share your ideas in the comments at the link above and what has worked for you!
It's not always easy and it's not always perfect. I have nearly sweated to death making calls in my car in 100 degree weather. I actually fried my battery doing this once, trying to keep cool! (Ooops!)
It has it's challenges and you feel out of balance a LOT! But I promise you one thing - it is SO worth it!
Living financially stress free while being there with your children, or aging parents or whatever it is for you; nothing compares to it! NOTHING!
Don't forget to join me on the call this week, as we cover some ideas on this exact topic.
